Election Thoughts

Well color me surprised! I woke up this morning and saw that Trump was elected!

I didn't have strong feelings for either candidate. For Harris, I like her demeaner (she seems respectful, professional, and articulate) but dislike her policies. For Trump, I like his policies (mainly conservative) but dislike his demeaner (he rambles, is a name-caller, and showboats).

Personally, I wish for a president like Ronald Reagan than Trump. Even better, Ron Paul.

I was surprised because I thought Harris would win judging from the sources I read. FiveThirtyEight, Selzer, and other well-respected polls put Harris in the lead. It seemed that the polls were stacked against Trump other than Rasmussen, which has always been conservative leaning.

But now, the entire country is leaning conservative. It seems like the President, the Senate, The House, and the Supreme Court will tip over to more conservative values. Which I pray, hope, and expect, will be for the better.

Why would we vote for a president as slimy as Trump? Because of his good conservative policies. Also, there is something even more slimy: The strange cultural values that are emerging from the LGBT community. Many of the ideas that were taboo 20 years ago is now being celebrated today.

I admit that Trump is "weird" (one of this year's 2024 anti-Trump slogans), but adults, especially children, deciding their gender, injecting themselves with hormones, and having their chest and genitals scapled to match their decided preference is even weirder.
