Plants and Latin

Today is Friday. We finally planted the seedlings into a plastic bin. I'm a little bit worried that the seedlings will not survive the transplanting process. But so far, the seats have been so hardy that they seem to be able to survive under quite extreme circumstances like still sprouting while submerged underwater. If they don't survive, then I'll probably just so some extra seeds into the dirt. I need to buy a new spray bottle and probably a goose neck watering can.

There's been multiple situations where I've needed a spray bottle just to missed the plants. New paragraph

I'm surprised at how enthusiastic the students are about their classroom journal. They've been sharing what they've been writing, and very surprised at the depth and complexity of many of their thoughts.

Yesterday, I sent out the first round of test packets with lower grades. Especially the first few lessons of cursive which is understandable because many of them have not been practicing their cursive during the summer.

I've begun adding pictures to the journal, but I'm nowhere near close to taking as many pictures during the class time as I would like.

Today was also the first day of the Cinderella rehearsal. For Opera a la carte. Actually, I believe they've changed their name to a new name, but I can't recall the new at the moment.

Last year, I bought new socks for every single day of the school year. The socks are usually food or artwork. Some of the socks are a famous painting or statues that show make it people. So I feel hesitant to wear them at work at an elementary school. Either I have to rig away to clothe them or not where they're all together.

Today for hot lunch Friday, the parents served chow mein, some type of savory breaded chicken, and a steamed broccoli and chicken dish. They even had a homemade dessert that was a coconut pudding with grapefruit slices. They even had those for keto and diabetic.

My document printer jam a few days ago, and I haven't prepared it. This year, I've been able to access the school printer without much difficulty using my phone and my laptop, so it is not a pressing issue to fix my document printer, but I should do it sometime when I have free time. New paragraph

One of the difficulties of writing the homework journal beginning of the day is that it shows what needs to be done but sometimes, actually quite frequently, we are unable to do all of the tasks. So there are many times where we have to cross out or change what the homework journal says at the end of the day. Still, I find the planning the day very helpful for the students. So I will continue to do so.

During pe, which was capture the flag, I asked Stevo if I could be the one to teach latin. He gave me the go ahead, which is better for the students, but it puts a little bit more workload on my end. However, it also reduces the workload on Stevo who is currently teaching 6th grade this year.

I got a new Bible, which is a New testament Bible with Psalms and proverbs. It is about twice the size of a small Gideon's Bible but their text is very readable and it looks like it's a much better quality Bible than a Gideon's Bible.
