Root Viewer
Today, the class set up the root viewers. This will be a surprise to me too because it includes not just turnip seeds but broccoli, alfalfa, and clover seeds as well. The mom suggested that it is better to presoak them, which I have never done in past years. I presoaked them for 4 hours. Many of the seeds sank to the bottom. I've done this before for making soy milk and growing butternut squash. We'll see how they turn out.
I plan to bring my onion plant to school so the students can see the roots.
I saw a fig tree on my walk around my neighborhood.
I found out that one of my students parents is actually the good heart teacher of my mother-in-law! What a surprise! Today was teacher commissioning day where many of the parents prayed and blessed the teachers for the rest of the school year. My mother-in-law attended.
The commissioning has just finished and I'm driving home right now. While driving home, I got a bloody nose which I don't know what that means but most likely it shows how tired I am. Last night when I had tacos with my brother who's visiting from new york, I didn't sleep until fairly late at night at 11:00. I'm very tired. Vivian made Korean marinated eggs which are often called drug eggs because of how tasty they are. Last night I made steak. So I'm going to eat quite a luxurious meal tonight.
In preparation to the walking field trip to the Performing Arts Center and the Mountain View library, I am reading aloud The Secret Garden. The play The secret Grden will be playing in the Mountain View Performing Arts Center the day we visit.
One of the students constructed a stamp using my new "Gutenberg Press". It's not really a glGuten urgent press, but Lego inspired press relief art kit called Prixel.
One of the parents wanted to help fund crazy projects for the school, especially science projects. I've been thinking a lot about some of the projects that we could do. One of the ones that I really want to do which would be quite an expense would be that happen established school garden. Every year we have to make a garden scratch, and I feel that we should have a cultivated garden that the students inherit to have taken care of. It would need to have an automated watering system, a plant nursery, and labeled plans for that are edible. So that by the end of the year or every season, we can have seasonal fruit and food solid that we can eat.
